Austimber Floors is owned and run by Tristan Mathieson, a Northern Beaches local family man who started in the industry over 20 years ago.
Tristan is a member of ATFA – Australian Own Timber Flooring Association.
Tristan started his time with another local floor sanding company, learning from other highly experienced floor sanders, before becoming the leading sander for the next 10 years. During this time he gained valuable experience from both trial and error, and teaching the craft to various other co-workers.
After a trial period of sub-contracting Tristan began his own business around 6 years ago. It has been highly successful, having had thousands of satisfied clients, including home owners, businesses, builders, architects, interior designers and real estate agents. Tristan works alongside one or two other highly skilled, motivated and trustworthy team members to ensure a high standard of workmanship.

All work is either carried out , or supervised , by the person who owns the company – unlike many other companies who use unskilled / inexperienced workers or subcontract work out.
